If I had to choose one word to describe this year, it would be “growth”. I’ve experienced personal growth as a person and technical growth as an artist. I had a lot of fun trying out new techniques and ideas in the storylines this year, and I pushed some characters into new spots in their own personal stories. At this point, the world of Orange & Blue has become a relaxing canvas unto which I can paint some new scenarios and jokes. Writing this webcomic is always a blast, and I hope you, the reader, have been enjoying it as well. Thank you for reading, whether this is the first you’re seeing of Orange & Blue or you’ve been around for a while. Let’s keep up the energy for next year!
Happy Birthday to our growing fox and maturing wolf!
This is it. The big one-zero. A full decade of illustrating and writing a webcomic. I can only imagine my younger self seeing this picture ten years ago when he decided to take a crack at a webcomic and seeing how far he could get. There are lots of faces in this picture: some of them are regulars, and others are blasts from the past. Being able to create a world with so many colorful characters and simply experimenting with what they’d do in all these crazy situations is some of the most fun I’ve had in my life. I honestly can’t believe I’ve been doing this for 10 years, but here we are. November 14, 2011 feels like forever ago at this point, but its a day I’ll never forget.
Happy Birthday to our favorite fox and our favorite wolf.
Year nine. I’m coming up on a decade with Orange and Blue, and it’s been a crazy ride. My art this year has evolved significantly, and getting to see Felix and Farah at their most expressive and vibrant has been such a treat. 2020 was full of longer and more involved storylines, a feat I hadn’t dabbled in before. While those stories were tough to execute, it was fun to see them realized. Let’s push forth to the future with even wackier and engaging stories about our favorite colorful animals! As always, thank you very much for reading.
This has been quite the great year for me, both within this comic and in other parts of my life. I feel like I’ve gotten to take these characters to new and interesting places over the course of 2019, and it’s been fun seeing where they can go next. It’s still hard to believe I’ve been at this for 8 years, but I’ve enjoyed every second of it. And I hope you all continue to enjoy reading! Thank you for following the bizarre journeys of these colorful animals!
We’ll be back with more of said journeys on Wednesday!
Vegging out and watching some home movies on the couch sounds pretty cozy, doesn’t it? Boy, year seven…I been through a lot within all the time Orange & Blue has been going. I’ve gotten better at drawing, been exposed to more media, people, and other influences, developed new tastes, and much more. 2018 was a really a great year for me, and I think that has been reflected in the comic itself. The past few arcs have been a blast to work on, and I think they’ve turned out the best overall. I hope you continue to read and see how these characters get in and out of their silly situations. Thank you very much, readers!
